LABORATORIES

IT Lab

The Science and IT Labs at STEP Schools provide a conducive environment for students to unleash their creative energy beyond the classroom. Our Labs act as the ideal spaces for students to exercise Project Based learning in an interdisciplinary approach; invigorating our STEAM program and providing students with the skills they need to thrive in their future careers, from technical skills to critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, communication and collaboration.

They complement our teaching and learning philosophy and create a platform for interdisciplinary teaching and learning by integrating mathematics, science, art, languages and social studies to prepare our students for the future.

The IT labs feature Robotics sensors and micro-controllers, Robotics kits, Programming softwares and a diverse range of equipment for prototyping. The Robotics sensors include a wide array of sensors and actuators, ranging from soil-moisture, touch and rain sensors to servo motors and robotic car chassis. The Robotics micro-controllers include Arduino UNO for standard robot design and Node MCU for IOT (Internet of Things) based robot design. Scratch, mBlock, Python IDLE, Dev C++ etc. are the programming softwares available to our students, offering them with a fulfilling experience of software development. Furthermore, our IT labs include a diverse range of equipment for prototyping various projects; ranging from drills, glue-guns, Vernier calipers and solar cells to rubber bands, wooden skewers and popsicle sticks.
