Foundation & Junior Year

STEP 'Founder and Junior Years' consist of First Step I, II and III continuing to Step 1 and Step 2. At these levels, curriculum has drawn on the most significant researchers of the 21st century skills. The curriculum strongly recommends active learning, hands-on experiences and learning through exploration. We endorse experiences that enable children to think, explore, apply and practice. the development of the young brain is cumulative layering of foundational skills influenced by relationships, experiences, and environments. This is why, at STEP; nurturing emerging social, emotional, cognitive, and language skills in the foundation and junior years is critically important. The aim is to provide a framework that guides teachers as they make decisions about strategies to successfully scaffold children's learning. It allows smooth transitions from home to preparatory years and then to formal school, moving the child successfully from one learning experience to another.
